A Chicago police officer was injured late Friday after his squad car was struck by a suspected drunken driver.The collision happened at about 10 p.m. on the city’s south side. A sport utility vehicle hit the police car head-on, police said. The squad car’s hood was badly damaged.
The driver of the SUV was not injured, according to police. The officer was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
Drunken driving charges have been filed against the SUV’s driver.
