Prosecutors drop DWI charge against A.T. Still Univ. President

Kansas City, MO
Prosecutors have dropped a drunk driving charge against the now-former president of A.T. Still University in Kirksville.

Dr. James McGovern was arrested on a DWI charge in Kansas City last November. McGovern took a medical leave of absence from the school in February and retired in April, citing high blood pressure and stress.

Prosecutors did not reveal why the charge was dropped last Friday.

Former Truman State University President Jack Magruder agreed to step in as acting president at the medical school and was formally named president after McGovern retired.
