Warren Moon pleads not guilty to DUI

Kirkland, WA
Former Seattle Seahawks and Washington Huskies quarterback Warren Moon pleaded not guilty Monday to DUI, stemming from an arrest in December.

According to court records, Moon's arraignment, which was scheduled for Tuesday, was moved up at his lawyer's request. Moon's next scheduled court date is a pre-trial hearing on March 31 in Kirkland Municipal Court.

Moon, 51, was pulled over by Medina Police around 2 a.m. on December 28 on State Route 520. He was initially stopped for having expired tabs on his car. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI, then processed and released from a Kirkland police station.

Football Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon arrested for DUI

Seattle, WA
Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon was arrested early Friday morning for investigation of DUI and driving with a suspended license -- his second alcohol-related arrest in King County this year.

Moon, who was the 1978 Rose Bowl MVP while at the University of Washington, was driving on state Route 520 about 2:10 a.m. when he was stopped by Medina police.

Lt. Dan Yourkoski said Moon was stopped "because of issues with his driving," and was released by the Kirkland Police Department later Friday. Yourkoski did not say whether police measured Moon's breath-alcohol content.

A message left at Moon's home Friday evening was not returned.

Moon, 51, was arrested April 6 after a State Patrol trooper stopped his blue Chevrolet SUV in downtown Kirkland and reported smelling "a very strong odor of intoxicants coming from the vehicle." More >>
