Rebecca De Mornay pleads no contest to DUI charge, sentenced to 3 years probation

Beverly Hills, CA
Actress Rebecca De Mornay pleaded no contest Tuesday to a misdemeanor drunken driving charge stemming from a traffic stop last October in Beverly Hills, according to City News Service.
Superior Court Judge H. Chester Horn ordered De Mornay to complete a three-month program for DUI offenders, serve three years summary probation and pay $350 plus penalties, according to Sandi Gibbons of the District Attorney's Office.
De Mornay was not in Beverly Hills Superior Court for the brief hearing. Defense attorney Blair Berk entered the no contest plea on her client's behalf to one count of driving while having a 0.08 percent or higher blood-alcohol level, Gibbons said.
A second DUI charge was dismissed as a result of the plea, according to Gibbons.
De Mornay, 48, was driving alone when she was pulled over for a traffic violation around 10:30 p.m. Oct. 30 near Sunset Boulevard and Foothill Road, according to Beverly Hills police Lt. Tony Lee.
Officers "immediately detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage" and gave the actress a series of field sobriety tests, according to Lee.
Police determined she was driving under the influence and arrested her, according to the lieutenant, who said her blood-alcohol level was 0.09 percent. More >>
